What Is Skimboarding?

If you’ve ever seen someone riding a skimboard, it might look like they’re just gliding across the water. But what is skimboarding, really?

Skimboarding is a watersport that involves riding a short, narrow board across the surface of the water. It’s similar to surfing, but instead of riding waves, skimboarders ride on the flat water between the shoreline and the incoming waves.

To ride a skimboard, you’ll need to start by running towards the shore with your board in hand. As you reach the shallows, drop your board down on the water and jump on. Then, use your arms and legs to paddle out into deeper water. Once you’re past the waves, you can start to skim along the surface of the water back towards the shore.

Skimboarding is a great way to enjoy the waves without having to wait for them to come in. And once you get the hang of it, you can start doing tricks and riding in on bigger waves. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and give skimboarding a try!
